Ahmed Sofi
Ahmad Sofi is an oil painter from Jeddah whose surreal works delve into the complexities of perception and reality. Beginning his journey in 2015, Ahmad has developed a distinctive style
influenced by the metaphysical art of Giorgio de Chirico and Carlo Carrà.
He holds a Master's degree in Fine Art Practice from the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, where he further refined his practice and deepened his exploration of philosophical and
artistic questions. Through his art, he investigates themes such as understanding and misunderstanding, conception and perception, and the epistemological foundations of art. By distorting and reimagining reality, he aims to capture hidden truths within the outer world, challenging viewers to question the nature of what they see versus what truly is.
Ahmad has showcased his work in several group exhibitions internationally and locally, including Title...Pending in Glasgow, Scotland (2023); Sindbad, I Can See Land in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2024); Biting Between One's Teeth, part of Young Saudi Artists 9th edition in Jeddah (2024); and most recently, the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Exhibition: Summer 2025 in Riyadh. His work invites contemplation on the ways our perceptions shape and often
distort our understanding.
