Farah Soltani

Biography

Farah Soltani is a visual artist working across a wide range of media: sculpture, painted canvases, video art, written pieces, and installations. Born and raised in Tehran, she began her artistic path by studying graphic design in high school, where she developed skills in drawing, color work, and diverse art-making techniques. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art at the American University in Dubai, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Arts and Media at New York University in Abu Dhabi, where she received a scholarship and graduated magna cum laude. Her work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Tehran, Isfahan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Paris, Monaco, and Los Angeles.

Soltani’s practice often emerges from close observation, drawing inspiration from the simple and ordinary elements of everyday life. She selects subjects from these observations and recreates, relocates, or transforms them into new themes. By amplifying these subjects, rendering them imaginary, or shifting their context through changes in scale, color, or material, she brings forward the complexity of the world around us. Her work invites viewers to look from an unexpected angle and to reconnect their attention to the overlooked textures of daily life.
